Ryu Hayabusa is the protagonist of the Ninja Gaiden video game series as well as a player character in the Dead or Alive series by Team Ninja and Tecmo. According to the game canon, Ryu (lit. "dragon") Hayabusa ("falcon") is a ninja and the leader of the Hayabusa Clan. The clan is said to have spiritual, physical and magical ties to ancient dragons. He is often regarded as the most-popular ninja character to ever be featured in video games.
